Where: The Square
When: Fri 22nd Aug
Stagecoach South West is hosting a free family fun-day on Friday 22 August in Barnstaple Town Square. The day will run from 11am to 3pm and, as well as entertainment for the kids, it is also an opportunity for customers to find out about 1st September service changes to the operator’s North Devon Wave bus route. In addition, it will raise funds in aid of the North Devon Chemotherapy Appeal - helping the charity to meet its target of £2.2 million.
The free entertainment on offer will include lots of popular activities for the kids to enjoy including face painting, balloon modeling and a magic show. Plus, there will also be an opportunity to win an annual ‘Megarider’ ticket worth £940!
Stagecoach South West’s North Devon Operations Manager, Richard Scant, enthused, “We are really looking forward to a good turn out to support this great charity, meet our customers and have lots of fun.”
He continued “We’re also proud to offer our support to the Chemotherapy Appeal- the goal is to build a local facility that can provide expert treatment for up to 5000 patients a year within their own community rather than facing a stressful journey for treatment further afield.”
Visitors on the day will also be able to pick up copies of the new North Devon Wave timetable, valid from 1st September 2014. As well as continuing to offer the additional morning journeys introduced over the summer holidays, the timetable will also integrate route 308 between Croyde and Georgeham as part of an hourly extension to the 21A service and will provide an improved 10 minute daytime frequency to Braunton.
The new timetable is also available to view online (www.stagecoachbus.com/southwest) and copies can be picked up from the usual outlets.
